I can usually feel it coming on. The feeling that something is missing. The urge to channel my creative crafty side or conquer a home improvement project. Only problem is that I usually get about two thirds of the way through a project, get bored and move on to something else. My follow through needs some work. I really want to paint one of our bathrooms, but I haven't even finished painting the exterior doors from this summer or the baseboards in the living room from this spring. But a girl can still plan and that is most of the fun anyway! So in the spirit of taking on little projects, with the intention to finish, I've been making wreaths for holiday decorations around the house. I'm going for an organic look this year and can't wait to start decorating.
This is how I made the moss covered wreaths for the dining room and kitchen windows.
 |
| Medium sized straw wreath, roll of moss, scissors and the trusty glue gun. |
 |
| Cut moss into 3 inch strips and glue to wreath. |
 |
| Pain reliever in the event you scold your fingers with hot glue. |
 |
| The finished product. This is messy so use a tablecloth and shake out for easy cleanup. |
I really appreciate arts and crafts. It's my way of "de-cluttering" myself since I'm not a very well spoken person. I want for her to appreciate that too. And I think she does because she gets a look on her face that greatness has been achieved when she finishes a masterpiece.
She learned the letter "t" in preschool this week so it was only appropriate to do the traditional hand print turkey craft!
Have an awesome weekend. Get out and do something creative! And if you need a little push to get the creative juices flowing...
Honestly!? Chocolate and beer. You better believe it's tasty! Enjoy!
