It's the Final Countdown...

If you started singing this song in your head you're ...

a) a die hard Europe fan, or
b) a child of the 80's.

None of the above?  That's OK, just rock it!

Well, I didn't exactly follow that week-by-week Christmas preparation plan but I'm ready.  More than ready.  She gets it this year; the excitement of Christmas.  And as her excitement grows, so does mine.  No lie though I've been trying to keep the true meaning real.  Like the advent nativity scene on our refrigerator.
I'm with Abbey this time.  That is one cute baby Jesus all swaddled up in the manger.
We add a new piece every day but I know the real excitement will come Christmas morning when she can put baby Jesus on the scene.  Because Abbey is obsessed with babies.  And if helping her learn about God's love means putting a little more emphasis on "baby" Jesus, then by-golly that's what I'm gonna roll with!

I like it when Christmas falls on the weekend.  That means we can spend all day on Christmas Eve baking cookies for Santa, setting out the reindeer food, snacks for the elves and preparing for our traditional fried oyster dinner without the hassle of work.  Because Justin and I don't have jobs that let us off on Christmas Eve.  Boo...well, I guess some body's gotta do it though, right?
Will someone please explain the whole elf-on-the-shelf craze this year because it seems a little creepy to me.
So, is it kinda sick that I'm already thinking about January?  I'm not trying to rush December away, but do you know what January means?  Purging and cleaning.  Organizing and setting plans for the new year.  And maybe, just maybe, starting another painting project at the house.  Yeah, I'm already comparing paint chips, shopping for prints and pricing light fixtures.  I'm all kinds of excited...
