A Post Without A Title

Can We Just Skip August?

Even though we are what already what feels like the dog days of summer, I am already planning for autumn.  Perhaps it was my recent trip to the Michael's craft store that began as a quick trip for two 59 cents pedigree charts for the family tree I'm working on.  It ended with a basket full of back-to-school goodies and autumn decorations that I hid from my husband because he would honestly think I need therapy.

And there is something else I am beyond excitement about that will hopefully wait until October though; the arrival of my second niece!  Her sister came 5 weeks early and poor Bryce is going for weekly shots for premature labor with this one.  We are all saying our prayers and keeping our legs crossed!
Can't wait to meet you baby niece; but, I'm willing to wait another 3 months to meet you as long as you promise NOT to come early!
I promise poppa...Aunt Becky and Jennie said this is a broccoli sucker and the other is here is yellow squash!
Is It Friday Yet?

I normally don't rush the week along; unless I've been sleep deprived.  But I can't wait until this Saturday to arrive to go the the Day Lily & Wine festival at Andre Viette's Farm & Nursery in Fishersville.  It's like Christmas in July!  The food, music, crafts and, of course the wine, are fabulous!  And it's so much fun to catch up with friends and family surrounded by the beautiful farm land.  I can't wait to take and share pictures next week!

This beautiful shade garden at the Bridgewater Park
has inspired me to do a little additional planting around the house.  More to come when that project is finished.
An Even Better Deal!

I few weeks ago I did my first post on the deal-of-the-day.  I love a good deal and despise paying full price for anything!  And the best deal of all is getting stuff free right?  Well, thanks to Mr. Mumaw, a farmer/financial advisor/compliance officer that works in our building, I made six quarts of polish dill pickles over the weekend from a bucket of cucumbers from his farm.  All at a cost of...nothing!  Now that's a good deal and great use of resources.  Can't wait for those tomatoes to ripen!  Okay, so maybe I don't want to skip the month of August after all because I love canning!
